First Impressions on Resident Evil 5 Demo

I recently played the Resident Evil 5 Demo and I was disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, I loved Resident Evil 4. But they’ve copy and pasted the controls from Resident Evil 4. You may be thinking “Don’t fix what isn’t broken” but no, you’re wrong. In this day and age of gaming you should, nay, you have to be able to shoot and move at the same time. Anyone that says they don’t mind not being able to shoot and move at the same time is lying through their teeth. I think it is unacceptable. I was excited for this game but now I’m not going to get it.

  1. Oh, you inflammatory bastard.

  2. Not being able to shoot and move at the same time is what makes RE4 a survival horror game. It adds more challenge, strategy, and a feeling of being overwhelmed by attacking enemies. Add in the ability to shoot and move, and what do you have? Another action shooter in the already over saturated action shooter market. YOU VEEDIOT!

  3. Whether you can move and shoot at the same time shouldn’t determine if a game is a horror game or a shooter. I’m saying that it should be able to be a horror game and let you MOVE AND SHOOT. Case and point, if they force you shoot without moving in order to create a sense of being overwhelmed, then their doing something wrong. It just feels like a gimmick to me. YOU JUST GOT BURNED!

  4. Well maybe you’re right, I’d much rather play a game that controls just like every other shooter out there. I’d hate playing anything unique or different. The controls are one of the many things that make the RE series different than all those other games out there. Not buying a game just because it doesn’t have a conventional control scheme seems like the right idea to me. Also, I know you never would have gotten this, but THAT’S SARCASM.

  5. Wow, such hostility. Let’s all go to Happytown!

  6. Only if there are toothpicks and other stabby things in Happytown.
